Exam Preparation

We have now begun the preparation for our media exam. We have started looking at past papers to understand the questions that we are likely to get. Now we are starting to do practice answers, and do work to help us comprehend the information.

I have now completed a practice answer for a section 1a) question. So far I've found it quite challenging and I need to remember the next time I answer these questions to refer to the process of editing our music video, as this will help me to get the higher marks and achieve more in the exam. I found this question quite difficult, but feel that I will do better as I continue to practice.

We have been studying the five predominant topics, one of which is likely to be the subject of the section 1b) question. I feel fairly confident that I will be able to answer this question well, but I shall have to continue practicing how I am going to structure my answer and also consider what information I need to include to relate well depending upon what topic is the subject of the question. The five topics that we have had to understand are:
-Narrative
-Media Language
-Audience
-Genre
-Representation
This question is difficult as there is a lot of information to be written down in the short time frame available in the exam.

Recently we have been looking at the question from section 2, this question appears to be the hardest as there is a lot of inofrmation to learn and case studies to remember. In aid of preparing for this exam, we have been looking at Media in the online age, and how technologies have progressed from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0. We have been making many notes and have been learning techniques to help us remember the information and achieve the higher marks.

We are continuing to revise the necessary information to prepare for our exam.
